Remember Me??
Hello everyone! It's been about a month or more since I've been on the NY board to say hello. Even though I'm a Lap Band patient, I still like to show my face around here (I admit to lurking) every so often to see how everyone is doing.
I wanted to give everyone an update on my progress. As some of you know, I had Lap Band surgery on October 5th at Good Samaritan Hospital in W. Islip by Dr. Cussatti. I had a very uneventful surgery, almost too uneventful (if that is possible) and have progressed swiftly. So Far:
I'm down 20 lbs., 1 pant size and 1 shirt size!
To add... I was diagnosed with borderline hypertension during the course of my pre-op evaluations, and I am happy to report that I no longer have BHBP! I exercise every day, and that was a huge challenge for me. I find that I actually crave exercise (as odd as that sounds), and it gets better and better each time.
I never thought I'd be at this juncture in my life. I didn't think it was possible for me to get even THIS far, but it took a lot of determination, good resources, doctors and the support of my OH/AMOS family. I couldn't have one without the other(s). It was the combination of the that helped me succeed so far, and I'm so thankful that I found this site and the wonderful people that it is comprised of. I still have a long ways to go but I'm sure I can do it as long as I have my pals at OH.
Thanks again!
Stephanie
