Hi everyone' Does anyone know if a NG tube and a breathing tube is used during surgery?

Donna, I am still Pre-op but I did talk to my surgeon and he does not use the NG tude at all but I know my cousins Dr. did so you might want to check with the Dr. that will be doing the surgery...... Best of luck......... Debra Peace

Donna; A breathing tube is put in and usually removed while your asleep for the surgery. Some Dr. use NG tubes and others don't so that you will need to check with your surgeon. The breathing tube almost always is out before you wake up, or in some cases as soon as you are awake if your breathing to shallow while still asleep. I hope this helps. Good luck Kathi
