Christine - I feel so badly for you. You have really been through hell with this journey so far and it is so unfair. All I can suggest at this point is to have your old PCP and you present PCP give you a copy of all your medical records. You are entitled to this by law. You may then have to find a WLS-friendly PCP in your area that accepts GHI. You may have to just ask around on the boards to see who in Brooklyn has GHI and has a good PCP. The reason I feel it's best to have a WLS-friendly PCP is because your letter of medical necessity has to be a strong and convincing one and if further appeals are necessary (and with GHI, you already KNOW how negative they are), you will need a surgeon and a PCP who are willing to follow up with more information, appeal letters, or whatever else is necessary to flood the insurance company with more and more support for you to be approved for the surgery. If you have a PCP who is negative from the gate, you KNOW he's not going to stick his neck out for you and GHI has proven to be a B*TCH for you so far so you know you will need all the medical support you can get.
I so hope that you are able to get what you need so that you can finally get approval and be on your way soon.

Thanks I am already on it, made some phone calls and spoke to my surgeon and to obesityhelp.com and they said with my surgeons reputation she doesn't doubt he will win the appeal, but I am not going to leave it there I will still start my supervised diet as soon as I find a pcp willing to support wls and takes my SHI**y insurance.
How are you, what did the doctor say and what do you have to do next and how much weight did you lose, and how is the family. Hope your life is full with love and happiness and must of all health.
