This dream of running NY marathon has been in my mind for a while.

Would love to start with a 5k! Hope someone answers.

Cindy - our support group will probably be participating in The Freihofer's Run for Women. You don't have to run. I walked it last year. It in Albany on June 4th this year. I will likely be posting a link on the group page as it gets closer and we can start registering. There is also a community walk after the race that a bunch of us did. BTW - no men in the race. Men can join us for the walk.

There is a place on Wolf Road called Fleet Feet (sneaker/running store). Check them out. They have schedules and I think they also have a training program.

what I did was google 5k races for my area and one of the websites was a runners club. I went to their website and they listed races for the year. But check frequently because some organizations haven't listed theirs yet but the large yearly ones should be on it.
Hope it helps

One of the biggest club is called the road runners.  They have clubs all over the country and are the source of many runs (even the NYC Marathon)
