Depends on the insurance company, I have BC/BS of CNY, they paid for mine, I had to pay a 5.00 copay each visit, check the insurance infomation you received and also call your insurance company and ask them, thats what I did.

Thanks LeeAnne, just did that!  Talk about the run around!  They said the services "could be" covered but it depends on the procedure code that the billing department uses.  I also asked if a 6 month physician supervised diet was necessary and I got transferred three times.  No one would answer that.  They referred me to their website which outlines Bariatric Surgery and I stated that I could not decipher whether or not it did and could they help me? --I was then referred to a manager's voicemail.  Frustrating! LOL

That 4 hour meeting you went to...that procedure code and billing code is in your insurance packet, double check with the baratric office on that...I remember calling the insurance company and giving them those codes to find out if they would cover my nut and ss visit...check it out....

Thanks LeeAnne--you are a wealth of information!!

I did exactly what you said and got the info I needed!  The ins. co. also called me back and explained their recent policy changes in layman's terms so that is clear now too!  *sigh of relief*

Thanks so much!
