Emblem aka GHI
Ohhh Kim, I wish I had some information on EmblemHealth/GHI approving WLS. My employer just signed on with them in January and I've called 3 times plus emailed to get info on approving the surgery. Only one rep confirmed the requirement for the 6mth physician supervised diet---all other communication stated that it must be approved with their pre-authorization dept. --no other details. It doesn't help that most people don't even realize that EmblemHealth is GHI.

I hope it does...I am praying this will all work out.I am the employer..I own my own business and so does my husband..we both decided it was time to get some health ins.,just in case...I was hoping if I started going to a Dr.(haven't been to one in 20 yrs.) I can qualify for the surgery.I wish you the best of luck and don't give up..I'm not going to! Keep me posted,I will too! Take Care!
