Hi all!

I am not from New York but I am hoping someone can help me? I am planning on coming to the OH convention in october in rye brook, new york, I had planned on taking amtrak there but I have been told that the station closest to rye brook is no longer in operation? can anyone of you wonderful people help me as to which train station is closest, and failing that, which airport is closest to rye brook new york! thanks for any and all help!

Your best bet might be to fly into to Westchester County Airport (Code HPN) which is in Westchester, north of NYC.  Then you can take a taxi from there to Rye Brook which is due south of the airport, a little over 10 miles.  The problem you face is the Rye Brook is on the Merritt Pkwy, Route 15 coming through CT into Westchester and the Westchester County Airport is on  I 684 and almost runs parallel to Merritt Pkwy.

Go to Google Maps and you'll see what I mean.  As for HPN, it's a smaller airport but a lot of commuter planes fly in there.  Good luck with the travel arrangements and keep me posted.

why dont you just drive?

 a long drive and we only have one car and it's needed here...for the other person to go to and from work...

how about renting a car ? 

I am sure I signed up for it a couple of months ago when it was talked about on the forum.  I'm not sure if I can make it, though, because I am waiting on travel arrangements re: going to Santa Fe.   I would love to meet you since I zip through MD too quickly.  LOL!!
