Non-Scale Victories!

So, I am trying to focus more on the NON-scale victories!

Here's mine:

1. I can walk! Before surgery, I could barely walk the 12 feet to my front door, but last weekend, I walked 3 miles at the Bariatric Dream Walk!

2. I now have NORMAL blood sugars! No more 300's for me!

3. I have decreased my insulin from 200 units a day to 8...yes....8 units a night...and it's still decreasing!

4. I eat right! For the very first time in my life, I am eating the right way and flollowing all the rules!

5. I take my vitamins! I may hate swallowing them, but I do it and it feels good to put good things in my body!

6. I work out! I go to the gym and I can actually see my fitness increasing. The first time I stepped on the elliptical, I couldn't do more than 1 minute! Now....I can do 1 hour (with a few small rests) and today I did 40 minutes with NO rests! It actually FEELS GOOD!

7. I can drive my car without my belly touching the steering wheel!!! That's got to be unsafe! LOL

8. I FINALLY made an appointment to register for school! I WILL finish my degree!

9. I can clean my house without hurting myself or feel like I would keel over!

10. I actually want to leave my house and have a good time with other people!

All I can say is...Life is good...and it's getting better everyday! Scale shmale!

So, what are your best non-scale victories????  =)

Hugs to all,
Heather   P.S. I am soooooo grateful and soooooo blessed!

I am thrilled with all of your non-scale victories and your scale ones too!
I am thankful every day for my non-scale victories!

Here are some of mine:
1. I have gone from a too tight 30-32 to a too loose 18.

2. I no longer need diabetes meds.

3. I no longer have breathing problems and can walk without getting out of breath!

4. I can work out at the gym without feeling like the living dead...

5. I can do my own grocery shopping without needing a place to sit down and rest.

6. I was able to walk 3 miles in the Dream Walk last Sunday! Yay!

7. No more sleep apnea and no more c-pap machine!

8. I feel and look much younger than before my surgery! Not bad for a 60 year old!

9. I love my life instead of hating it!

Hi Heather,

Congrats on your  AWESOME victories thus far.....g guess what??????  It only gets better!
Remember, next year we are running a 5K together, it will not matter how long it will take us, simply the fact that we "can" do it we "will"!  Thanks to our RNY our tool has helped us to achieve these victories!
