Anyone have surgery at Arnot Ogden??
I am beginning this process as well and went to info sessions for both Highland and Arnot. Highland's info session was extremely thorough but a little drawn out. Arnot's was shorter and more to the point. They also left a lot of time for individuals to ask specific questions not meant for the entire audience to hear.
Today I had my first appt with Dr. Rahman at Arnot. I have to say that I left feeling very confident in my decision to go with Arnot and Dr. Rahman. Dr. Rahman was very thorough, patient and kind. I felt like he had great "bedside manner" and took his time (1 hour to be exact) to explain everything and answer my questions.
Dr. Rahman said that the entire process takes between 3-6 mths and in unusual cir****tances, up to 10 mths. Once you have your first consult with the surgeon, you have a group appt with the social worker, dietitian and insurance rep. Then a week or so later you have individual appts with the dietitian and social worker. Since I haven't gotten any farther than this, I can't give you more specifics about total waiting time but I'm sure there are others on here that could.
Something else to consider is the travel time back and forth to Rochester or Elmira. I know Highland offers "local" pre-op consults but those are in Sayre which is just as far as Rochester for me.

Hi I had mine at Arnot. Was not a long wait at all for me once I got started in the process. All depends on y9ur insurance and the Dr.'s schedule. I had a great experience with them, as well as my mother and daughter. Well worth checking out. I do know however that they are now a center of excellence and they are getting very busy. Good Luck!!!
Hi, I had surgery at Arnot also, I started my journey Febuary 08 with my first call, went thru all the meetings and appts, had surgery on July 31st. Would have had it at the end of June but they had to reschedule me for July as ICU didn't have a bed for me that night (oversite on Arnot's end not mine) I love my RNY and wish I had done it years ago!! I went from a size 26 tight, 3x shirt, I'm now down to a size 12, with a med shirt and loving it!!!! Good luck to you!!! any questions feel free to msg me I'll help anyway I can.
