XP: Thankful post!

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the information and support I've recieved so far!

Today was my first real step in the process with a class called Bari-sentials.  It is a program overview/information session/class required by my surgeon's group.

I went in feeling very informed and knowing what questions to ask.  I could tell by the look on some of the 15 other people there that they didn't have a clue about some of the things talked about by the NUT and social worker.  I would have felt VERY overwhelmed had I not found this site and read all of your encouraging and informative posts....

so THANK YOU!!  for making this first real step go so smoothly for me!

I too felt very comfortable at the Bari-sentials meeting as I had been doing tons of research and  found a couple awesome forums to read and post in. You are on your way, things seem to go pretty fast. Enjoy every step of your journey. I am sure we will meet soon, I am looking so forward to it.

now that I've gotten through the Bari-sentials class things DO seem to be moving much quicker!  I have an appointment with Mickey on the 21st (could have had it today, but I'm already out 1 1/2 days this week due to other appointments, and you know how the end of the school year is!).  I also have my appointment set up with Maureen for June 4th.  That is when we start our half day schedule at school so I won't miss any more work...

Before I know it October will be here!  (Not wishing our already too short summer away, but I am so hoping it gets here fast!)

Can't wait to meet you IRL too!  I was looking around last night for your friend, guess she didn't get in to this class?  I'm sure if she gets into the next one I will run into her at the support meetings....

I know exactly what you mean.  Today was my first appt with the surgeon and I felt very well informed.  He actually suggested I go to this site for additional information and support which I was happy to let him know "already done!". 

I recommended this site to a couple people last night, too.  The girl I sat next to is a failed RNY, and didn't have ANY of the preparation classes before or after.  Everything last night was news to her... it was sad...  Here she had already had the surgery a few years ago, and NO classes or info at all... She's regained everything.... so she's investigating revision (lapband over RNY) to see if she can do it...
