Okay so maybe its just jitters because the day is getting so close. But I am scared like hell...thinking about cancelling. I've talked to my mom about it and she said that she is not going to make this decision for me because she doesn't want to be blamed for the outcome. So the choice is all mine.

I spoke to a friend and they told me to make a pro and cons list which I did but weighing it out the pros win but I am still having trouble getting over these jitters.

Pros-
healthy weight
healthy life
smaller normal sized clothes that I don't have to pay extra for
prob look better (but hell i think i look good now)
not worry about breaking anything or not being able to fit into anything
be able to run and play with my nephews or even excersize without getting out of breath

Cons-
Dumping forever
No more sweets or fast food
Sagging skin
No more tits or booty (I actually like the size of them now)
Losing hair
Vitamins forever

Now looking this over many times, my pros do outweight my cons and the majority of my cons are superficial and stuff I shouldn't worry about, but I can't help it. Is this all going to be worth while if I don't feel confident in my own skin...or should i say excess skin anymore. I am very confident with myself but I know I am not healthy. I just want to be able to eat my cake and have it to, but thats not an option.

So can someone please help me rationalize these doubts before I lose my freaking mind or make a huge mistake. And I am trying to rest my fears in the hands of God but its hard.

Hi there, I had my RNY bypass in 2000 in 2002 I had a tummy tuck (paid for by insurance) and had a child in 2004. I went from 291lbs..to 171lbs size 26-28 to a 14.   In the begining I remember the dumping, the hair loss....BUT I havent met anyone who said they wish they never had it done!!

I had a bit of hair loss, sagging skin..hmm a bit, and a few pills a day..not a problem.  I never lost my booty...There are many  guys that say I had a big banging booty..lol  I lost my boobs a bit, but nothing a push up bra could fix, i was only a c cup down to a b cup.....

I could run up a flight of stairs without pausing at the top!
I could bend over and tie my shoes without  loosing my airway..lol!
I could wear those sexy thigh boots my old thighs i couldnt zip them up!
My overall health is better.

It is now 2009 i would give anything to have those things back.  I have gained back 58lbs.  I have no more dumping problems, so of course that leaves you to cheat with sugar.  I struggle with my food choices, it is like i never had a bypass in the first place.  I go to buffets, I eat... You need to keep focused and keep in touch with support that will keep you on the right track.  You need to change your relationship with food, I havent.   You need to learn the process along with your surgery.
Dont be scared your going to be fine, Dont back out now!  Your health is on the line,  even if you have diabetes and it goes away, or reflux, or high blood pressure..you need those things to change to LIVE!

My personal experience based on your cons

The dumping is not forever - I probably experienced dumping 5 times in the last 2 years - and its like totally my fault - i ate a milkshake or something I shouldnt have LOL...I havent experienced it in awhile (because I know what to stay away from)

No more sweets or fast food?  You can have it, just need to experiment your limits, I eat fast food maybe 1 a week - can't eat it too often, its unhealthy and a waste of money....

Sagging skin- you can get a tummy tuck or something if you can afford it.

no more tits or booty - lol if you like the way they are XD...you are a lucky woman to have such good self esteem ( Im a man I lost my man tits and my booty is firm LOL)

Losing Hair - It will start first 6 months I know I lost hair, my head is full and healthy now

Vitamins forever...4 pills a day @ 3 months supply is 60 bucks...my diabetes/high blood pressure medicatons were 6 pills a day + a shot of byetta at a cost of about 80 dollars a month in copays
