New to board. Have a date.
Hello everyone,
I'm Jason. A 35 year old man that has been overweight my whole life. I had heart issues 8 years ago and I see my cardiologist regularly. My Cardio and I have a special relationship with me being the youngest of his many patients so he pulls no punches when talking to me. On one of my last visits we were talking about my children and he floored me when he said, and I quote, "If you want to see your kids 10th birthday, you'll lose weight." I realized right then and there that something had to be done. My mother and my Aunt (her sister) had both had the RNY with amazing results so I began to talk to them about thier experiences. After much research, I decided that WLS was a tool that I could not live without. I contacted Dr. Shawn Garber who I really like and started the process. I had my second consult yesterday and they scheduled me for a 6/15 surgery. I'm very happy to finally have a date and will be thrilled when my insurance approval comes. I just figured I'd introduce myself because i'm sure i'll have many questions and there seem to be some very knowledgable people on this board from the many posts i've read. Thanks for reading.
