Western New York - Support

Any Western New York WLS Support Groups?

I had my surgery out state and moved to NY.... Please let me know...

Hi!!  Welcome to NY!  There is a support group meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays (I think---someone will correct me if I'm wrong) at Synergy Bariartics in Williamsville at 6 PM.  They are on N. Union.  I've only ever made it to one meeting because it's quite a drive for me but there are always lots of people there.

How is the BGH meeting?  I kinda want to go. I had surgery there.

its not bad....i havent been there in awhile though because i have sheas tickets the same nite but may try to go this month. they used to have a separate meeting for gastric bypass pts and the lap bands but now it is combined because i guess not too many gastric bypass patients attend. the few meetings i attended i found them to be worthwhile

The synergy support group is packed, there are lots of people there at different stages. Everyone is very supportive. The next meeting is May 12 and there will be a clothing exchange that night. The 2nd and 4th tuesday of the month is the rny meeting, they also have a separate lap meeting.

If you're closer to Rochester, there are meetings at Unity (Park Ridge) Hospital, on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, at 7 pm, and at Highland Hospital the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30.
