Hi New Yorkers
I am new to this forum and just anted to say hi!
I am sceduled to have RNY on May 6th at Mount Sinai in Ny, NY and cant wait to be on the losers side.
My question is what advice can anyone give me in preparation for my surgery. I'm beginning to get nervous and feel like I am forgetting things. Also, does anyone know of websites I can get cheap samples of protein mixes, I want to start trying brands out.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the NY board and congrats on your upcomming surgery.
You can get protein samples from vitalady.com for about $2.00 each. They have tons of different brands and flavors. Don't try to many pre-op because your tast will change after surgery. All the protein I bought pre-op I was not able to drink post op. Ended up taking it to a support group meeting and giving it all away. My main advise would be to find good support groups and start going now. Get to know people and start building a support foundation..
Good luck!!!

Welcome Simone!
I will save you a seat on the loser's bench! May will be here before you know it...
Darice was right about the shakes and all food and drinks. Our tastes change tremendously after the surgery. Don't stock up on too much. The only protein shake that I have been able to like has been the pre-made Adkins Advantage shakes. They come in a 4 pack and you can buy them in Target and most other stores. They don't have the gritty after-taste that some of the powders have...at least to me...
Try to join a support group in your area or from the doctor's office or hospital. They have been such a help to me.
Good luck and keep in touch.
