I had my surgery Feb 13,08 at Ellis, being excited and nervous is normal - but rest assured you are in great hands.  The staff at the doctors office is great.   Everyone at the hospital was super, I had a very good experience.   Having a positive attitude helps as much as following doctors orders.   Feel free to send a message anytime.

Good luck , the time goes fast and what a journey!

Michelle,

You look great!  I guess you must be getting all your exercise chasing your grandbaby around.  I am assuming that you are feeling as great as you look.

Hello,
I had my surgery at Ellis on 1/12/09. Dr. Panamanglore is my doc. I love him and the office is great. Kim is very helpful!
I am down 52 lbs and have no regrets! It was a piece of....cake...Mmmmm cake!
I have to say...I feel wonderful and am doing good with eating a bit of anything I want. I have not eaten breads, cookies and other forms of junk. I haven't even felt like I am missing them. Your tastes do change post op. THere are things that are good for you that you want to eat and the other stuff you used to eat...you don't want now. It is funny how it works.
I never really drank the protein shakes. Haven't found one that I really like.
WOW! You only have a few weeks!
Good luck and keep checking the forums!

Hi there,

I had my surgery at Ellis with Dr. Clarke almost one year ago.  It has been quite a year!  The staff at the Bariatric Center is wonderful, Sally at the front desk is a great resource, so is Ann.  I don't know who does Dr. Ingram's scheduling, but you will get to know her very well.

When you are at Ellis they will take wonderful care of you.  Everyone was great.  Hopefully you will be home by noon on the 23rd.  The first couple of weeks are the most difficult, just trying to find out what you can eat, but within a couple of months you will have settled into you new life.

Good luck, if you have any questions, send me a message.

Wanted to pop in and  say hi- I 'm looking to have the Duodenal Switch at Adirondack medical center(they dont do the DS at Ellis or Albany).  I also wanted to mention that the support group I went to all had wonderful things to say about Ellis' Bariatric program.
