Keeping current, balance & change

Balance and haromony are my overarching goals.
Finding those things in my career, my relationships, my physical and emotional lives. Practicing surrender, acceptance. Letting go without judgment, noticing, making room for emotions, feeling them, working through them. Being gratefyul for my challenges, reframing struggles as opportunities to grow and learn.

Fighting my battle on obesity and staying in recovery...all of these things are important, not easy of course!

I embrace tools of deep breathing, meditation, guided imagry, personal growth work, exercise, support groups, 12step groups all to help me help me!

My disease is forever thre pulling me back so I am arming myself with ammunition to fight that and pull ahead instead!

This week I presented at my medical center on Obesity, the stigma, biases and predjudices around it in healthcare from a provider and patient perspective. I felt honored to do this (anxious of course) but my passion is to pay it forward as I know I can not keep what I do not give away!

In writing my vision, goals and hopes I make them real, journaling is an awesome tool in my war! Friends who are like minded in recovery are also helpful as I know in isolation I suffer and it does not have to be that way.

Today I am learning to embrace my stressors vs trying to deny or avoid them. I am grateful for so many things today, my life, my job, my home, my family, all of you here. My ability to move w/o pain, my ability to no longer need meds for high BP or cholesterol...

I am enjoying my pilates classes 2x week, they are so freeing and hard but so helpful on so many levels. Thanks for being here and listening!

Jamie my dear,

I love the idea of reframing struggles as opportunities to learn. So often we get stuck in the sense of hardship and loss of hope that accompanies struggle. The fact is, life is all about dealing with struggle. The more open you are to its potential the more you get from it.

I am really trying to move towards that way of looking at things. The past few years have been very difficult for me, but there is so much to be gained from my struggles...so much...and the key is staying open to those opportunities.

Thank you for your lovely post, for reminding me of what's important, and for being my friend.

Hey Amy dear friend I am so honored to have you in my life!

I truly believe in change your thoughts, change your life! I have been using the word challenge for quite some time now vs. difficulties or problems, it is amazing how subconciously this helps!!

I also am working on there are no mistakes in life only lessons and opportunities to learn! Sometimes I miss the lesson and it comes up again to teach me, I can embrace that and be grateful or miss the opportunity again....

HUGS dear! J~
