How long between your appointment with the surgeon and your surgery date?  I have my appointment in March.  They offered me one on Feb 19th which I couldn't take and the next available wasn't until mid March (kind of disappointing!).  I am just wondering what the average wait time is between that meeting and getting a date.

I had my appointment with Dr Johnson in the beginning of Sept and my surgery was December 11th, and in my reserach that waiting time is pretty standard.

Aw man lol.  I didn't want to wait that long.  I wonder if that's just with Dr. Johnson?  Hopefully some O'Malley patients will answer too!

Thanks for your answer :)

How did you get an appointment so quickly?  I called for an appt and they told me that I had to go to the Seminar first, which isn't until April 30th!

I have already done my seminar, my nutritionist appointments and my psych eval.  The surgeon doesn't meet with you at their office until you have done all of your paperwork and appointments :)

Thanks for the info.  I guess I'll have to wait a few more months.

Its going to vary depending on how booked they are but usually they are about 3 weeks out from the time they call you in for the final meeting with surgeon till they schedule the actuall surgery. In the between time you have pre-surgery apts as well for blood work ekg etc

The longest of Journeys start with a single step
(90 lost pre-surgery)

Thanks Ken!  I was hoping to have it done before the end of April so at least there's still some hope :)

Looks like you are doing great :D  Keep up the good work!

HI..I just had my one on one with Dr. O'malley today.  I waited just over a month for this appointment after finishing my last nutrition appt.   My Nutritionist said that Dr Johnson was booking out further than Dr O'malley.  My surgery date is tentatively set for March 25.  So about 5+ weeks of waiting.   I thought it would be a longer wait so I am pleased with my date.

I'm hearing that O'Malley schedules about 4-6 weeks out, which seems about right from everyone else's posts!  I DO have my one-on-one with O'Malley on Feb 19 (I wonder if I got the time you couldn't take?!) and will try and post back at that point as to status.  Good luck, and stay in touch -- it's nice to know there are other folks in the area!
