Bad Omen??????
How much are they requiring you to lose?
Looking for a great time in NY! Come to the OH Long Island Conference 2011! Use Coupon Code LebowitzNY11 for $30 off and a free t-shirt and tote bag! All proceeds will be donated to the OAC
I can understand why they require another medical clearance from the pcp because who knows...for whatever could have happened after ALL THAT TIME!
I am being sarcastic, I have to say that because it is hard to tell sometimes and I don't want to be misunderstood.
Sounds to me like a mess of an office! I would definately not see it as an omen! After all of that testing you are gonna be the healthiest person in that whole hospital!
Really though, you and everyone in that office can now be sure that your body can handle the surgery so onward and upward! You must be a very patient person...I am not and I would have gone out of my mind! My whole process took a max of three months, if that, and I was on the phone at least once a week with someone pushing it along! lol.
At least now you got your date and can move ahead to planning for your surgery and post-op... right?

Please don't shoot the messenger here... I'm just playing devils advocate.
Being as I work for a major insurance company and have been in the medical insurance industry for over 22 years I have to say...
- we all know that when you call an insurance company you can talk to 3 different people and get 3 different answers (I've personally been dealing with this for over 3 weeks just trying to get my own vision claim paid.. YACK).. so please don't take the requirements you were verbally given over the phone as written in stone.. I would either consult your benefit book or ask for them to be put in writing.. The insurance coordinator in your doc's office.. This is his/ her specialty and he/she deals with the insurance companies on a daily basis. Her goal is to get you approved on the first go around. Filing an appeal after a denial can hold things up for 6-8 weeks or longer. And trust me.. you don't want that.
- this by no means is an omen... I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason. Who knows, if you rushed through the process, had Dr. Moon as your surgeon who knows... the bottom line is you were not meant to have the surgery with that dr. or at that time.
Keep your chin up and stay focused on the light at the end of the tunnel.
PS... Realistically you could have traveled after your surgery. I know many people who have been back to work in a week or less. Once your're off your pain meds (which is differnet for everyone but its usually within a few days your taking just tylenol) you can even drive.
Good Luck
