My surgery date was 12/08/09 and was cancelled because my sugar was too high. My diabetic doctor checked my sugar and saw that it was under control. So my date was set for 02/03/09. I will be doing my preop work on 01/27/09. I must say I had learned alot about dealing with the carbohydrates in keeping sugars under control. I believe that I will have to this after surgery.

Yes this is cool news. Sometimes we get so focused on THE date and when it is changed for any reason (nursing shortage, Doctor issues, our own issues, insurance etc). It can be quite emotionally challenging.
I bet you are right that carbs will be something you will need to pay attention to forever to some extent...Diabetes is put into remission in 83% of cases, or significantly improved.....Be well, and healhty! Today is one step in your million mile journey of life in a happy and healthier manner!
