It was tough but...
...I made it through the weekend unscathed more or less. I am not a scale junkie but as I was moving it out of the way this morning I happened to jump on & I have lost about 5 lbs since Friday morning... woo hoo!!! See I knew if I cut out the crap & paid attention to what I was eating the scale would move again!! Now it is hidden until Friday (my official weigh-in day). I can hear that money coming my way (my bro & I put money in a pot to see who hits 30lbs gone quickest... $100 is quite the motivator!!)
I am not gonna lie - it was tough & I did snack but I made healthy choices not homemade brownies!!! And the quantities were considerably less than they had been in the past. Don't get me wrong - I am not eating anywhere near the amounts I used to pre-op but for a post-op I was overdoing it. I wouldn't eat large quantities at one sitting but it was a little here & a little there & that can add up depending on what the "littles" were!! I have to hit the grocery store at some point today or tomorrow & all of the junk is gone from my house & i don't plan on bringing it back in!! No baking products either... no flour, no sugar... if it's not here then I can't bake it!!!! I wish I had never found out that I can handle the damn sugar!!!! You newbies out there if you take nothing from my experience take this... DON'T TEST THOSE WATERS!!! Ignorance is bliss & trust me once you know that you can tolerate it you learn just how much you can tolerate & that's not a good thing!!!! Trust me, I know where of I speak!!!! Follow the rules set down by your doctor & stick with them as best you can... they know better than we do!!!!!!

Hey Cece - Glad to hear from you! You were inspiring to me when I was considering having the RNY as were so many others on here. You go girl!! Cheers to you for recognizing your trouble spots and doing your level best to correct them. It takes alot to admit that we are "overeating" most especially I think after surgery because we feel like all of our troubles have been "fixed" and all will be ok and the weight will fly off and automatically stay off - You sound like you have a good handle on things but wanted you to know that you have helped me in my journey (I'm down just over 100#) and I hope to help others like you have. Keep up your good work -I love your determination and sass!! Take care and never give up!!! Mary (Molly P)
