Great product! Yum!
Hiya Everyone! I know I have told a few of you about this product, but I notice that many people have never heard of it, so I thought I would share with you all! (And, no, I am not being paid to promote them--I just love them!)
I just love the Mr. Wheat's Crispy Wheats. They are round puffed grain snacks. They come in Honey--my fave, Sea Salt and in Plain. I use them instead of bread. I put everything and anything on them--Tuna and chicken salad, a slice of cheese, eggs, peanut butter, cream cheese, etc.--Really whatever you can think of! The best part is that a serving size of them is 7 whole crisps--but they are big, the size of a hamburger, so, I never even have more than 2! They are low cal, low carb, and have some fiber in them. So, try them--they're really good!
Here's the website... http://www.mrwheat.com/
I find them at IGA, Meat Farms, The Diet Shoppe...but you can check the website!
Enjoy!
Hugs, Heather

Hello, thank you for the post.
Yes at 1 month out I would think a couple would fill a person up....
I will share the nutrition info, for everyone's definition of lo cal and lo carb may be different. I am guessing those further out >6mo can eat more than 2 as a serving and for 24g carbs perhaps a slippery slope to carb monster...

One serving is similar in calories and carbs to THREE rice cakes (plain) which would be 135 cal and 21 g carbs and 3 g fiber or THREE slices of Arnold Bakery Light Oatmeal Bread for 120 cal, 26 gr carbs & 7.5g fiber. All are carbs and we each find our way with those after surgery. :-)

Well, yes I see that for 7 whole crisps the carbs are 24, but if you use them instead of bread, like I was suggesting or if you adjust your consumption accordingly and have maybe 1 or 2, the carbs then are 3.5 or 7. So, I think, for most people that is very do-able.
My suggestion was to put a form of protwin on them, so even years out, I don't see people eating 7 whole crisps with chicken salad on all of them for instance. Maybe they'd have 1, or 2, or 3 with something on them. So, in that case, I find them a wonderful substitute for bread. =)
And, as always, poeple need to try things and determine for themselves, as everybody can tolerate things in a different way.
So, to everyone *****ads this.....check out the site http://www.mrwheat.com/ and try them...you might love them..and if not...then maybe you'd find something else you love.. =)
Hugs everyone! JaimeCatLady---I was just trying to offer some help... ::shrug:: =(
