Huge set back surgery less then a week out

Well went to pre adm. today, all went well there nerves started to kick into overdrive when I was talking to the nurse and anest. But none the less I also had my exercise class and that went quick and well.  Then I drive all the way home its like a hour drive give or take and the Dr office called they needed to do a weigh in today! So i turned around and drove back to the dr office and weighed in. Well I have until friday to loose five pounds or I cant have the surgery. I started to cry the whole reason I am doing this surgery is because my weight is on and off like crazy and diets dont work. I cryed all the way home I dont know what to do but no eat until friday so I am going to take diet pills and drink water and hope that works. Man this is just a huge set back as if it is not enough to deal with the surgery it self. I am so down and out right now but thanks for listening!! Any ideas would be great at this point!!

Sorry to hear about your setback. 

All I can say is If you got yourself through all the other testing and evaluations that brought you to this point in the process, you can get yourself through the last five pounds.  You can do it!

It is just my opinion, but I'd stay away from the diet pills.  Is there a dietician connected with the practice that you can call?  I have the same problem losing weight on my own.  In a way I'm lucky because I will have been on my pre op liquid diet/protein shakes for 4 days before my pre admissions appt.  

You will get through this and you will succeed.  Don't give up on yourself now.

I have my surgery on the 12th and I have been on Medifast shakes since 12/30. I am supposed to get 5 in a day but have only gotten 3-4 in and have lost 10lbs. If you can get some of these and drink 4-5 a day I bet the 5lbs will be off by Friday!
Someone just told me that if I drank 5 a day I would lose more weight. Starting tomorrow I am going to see if I can do that before my surgery on Monday.
So Medifast 70 shakes mixed with 6-8oz of water, 5 a day should do the trick for you.

I am so sorry. I probably met you yesterday as I one of the ones that was in that excersize class with you at one? Does your insurance have something to do with your need to lose some weight? Mine did, cause Dr Fitzer's office said they didn't have that requirement for the most part. I know all about how hard it is to lose weight on your own, espcially in such a short time. Do stay away from the diet pills, all they do is load  you up on caffeine, or some herbs that might screw up the surgery, and they don't work great anyway. Maybe slim fast for 2 meals or protein shakes with multi vitamin and lg. salad with light meal for the other, and lots and lots of water to keep the hunger pangs at bay. I'm sure you have already gotten some supplies for after the surgery. I do wish you luck and if you don't succeed by Friday you can probably still have the surgery, only a little later. I just made the ins. goal weight loss on the nose and on weigh in day, Whewwwww, that was close.
Please post again and let me know how you made out. This process has taken me over 3 years for one reason or the other. But I kept coming back.
