Surgeons on Long Island

Hello. I am new here and wanted to see if anyone has used Dr. Nick Gabriel or Dr. Christopher Kaczmarski out of Smithtown? I am going for a seminar on the 16th and am interested in getting banded. I keep seeing the same doctor names pop up here but not these two doctors as of yet. I would be very grateful for any feedback.

I have never heard of either one of those surgeons, however, that doesn't mean that they are not excellent surgeons. Most people I know have used Dr. Ahmad at Mather Hospital and are thrilled with him and his office staff.

Thank you for responding! Unfortunately my Dr. Ahmad doesnt take my insurance and so far the only two are Dr.'s Gabriel and Kaczinski that I have found. I am going to the first seminar on January 16th so I look foward to hopefully joining the loser's bench.

I am not familiar with these docs, unfortunately...sorry for that...
But, just to be nosey...what ins. do you have?
I used Dr. Edward Cussatti in West Islip--he works from Good Samaritan Hospital which is practically right next door to his office....he does the bypass(which I had) and the band, as well.

Just a thought in case you don't like the docs you are going to check out....if Dr. Cussatti accepts your ins., he is really wonderful, very safe and cautious, caring and understanding, and cute, too! LOL
Plus, for the band, you always see him for fills, not a PA...it's always him.(My mom had the band until she had complications and had a revision to the bypass) I know other people have said that when they get fills at other doctors offices, they never get to see the actual doc, which I wouldn;t care for...but that is up to you... =)

Maybe ask that question when you check out these docs... and in case you want to check out Dr. Cussatti, their office number is 631-422-0909.   Good luck with your journey!

I have Oxford Liberty now and am in the process of switching over to Oxford freedom where most of the surgeons I contacted accept. I will still go meet Dr. Gabriel in 2 weeks but would like to have options.
Did your mother have Dr. Cussati as well? What kind of complications did she have if I may ask? How are you doing with yours? How long was the process for you before you were approved and in surgery?

Hi, I have never heard of either of those dr's. I had my surgery with Dr. Adaniel in West Islip. I am over 4 years post op and love my surgeon. I also know alot of Dr. Cussatti patients that are very pleased with him as well.

If you don't mind traveling into NYC. The Doctors at NYU are the best. Dr. Fielding has done more bands then any of the other band doctors and he has one himself. He developed the current technique that is used to suture the band and has trained many doctors.

I used Dr. Geiss in North Shore Syosett. I along with everyone I know who has used him loves him to pieces. I was very impressed and if I had to go back and do it all over again, I'd do it with him.

I am sorry I have never heard of either one of your doctors. What you can do... See if either of those Doctors have OH profiles if they do they will also have patient reviews. Try and contact one of the people who have left feedback for the doctor to see if they can help you.

There are only a few. According to his stats he has only done about 200 Lap band surgeries... good luck!

Hello, I have not heard of these doctors either but Dr. Braithwaite in Patchogue is doing my surgery. He is wonderful and used to be out of Stony Brook but is not out of Winthrop but it is worth the trip everyone I know who has had the surgery used Dr.Braithwaite. Good Luck
