I can't believe how many people who had him! Very cool! I just went for my pre op this morning so it is right around the corner from now.. jan 16th.. I didin't have to wait very long after seeing o mailey. You could get right in.. but I didn't know that Dr Boss died! How did that happen? Was he older? I have heard alot of good things about him too. Sorry for the loss.....

I had him too...and you're in good hands surgery wise.  Aftercare...hasn't been so good for me.  But I had lapband and that requires visits every 6-8 weeks for adjustments.  Maybe its fine for rny but I've been frustrated with my aftercare there.  Good luck to you!

I just popped over from the Ontario forum to say I had Dr O'Malley (RNY)  and I just had my 9 week checkup. I'm down 53 lbs since pre-op and I feel GREAT! Very little pain, easy recuperiation, and I was back at work after only 3 weeks. I've tried to follow the diet plans very carefully and I've experienced only "little" problems--usually from eating too fast.... I'm learning!

In my opinion, the guy is a top-notch surgeon and the program is VERY thorough.

BTW, I just heard they are adding another PA to assist with the lap-band program. It should cut down on some of that wait time you lab-banders are experiencing.

I also understand there is a new Coordinator who is all gung ho to get the websites updated and etc. I've suggested they get with the program and get affiliated with OH as well. We'll see.

It's nice to hear from other Dr O patients. Not too many around here....
