Curious about medicaid

Hey guys.
Im in my journey to get surgery i been doing the supervised diet with my pcp..i have 2 more months left. I had United health care but recently got layed off..so now im stuck. Im going to apply for medicaid and was wondering if any of you had experience with medicaid or any info that can help me? I really want this and was so excited but now with me losing my job and no insurance i feel helpless. I dont want to give up but i dont know in what direction to turn.
Please any input will be greatly appreciated.

From what I know there are several drs offices that do take medicaid for WLS.  It just has to be a center of excellence.  My drs office is at Ellis hospital with Dr. Terrance and Dr. Panemanglore and they do take medicaid.  Also, usually NYS will enroll you in a managed care program and CDPHP is offered which is good for WLS (my friend works for them).
