This is the website to check and see if you or you family is owed any money. NYS is holding $9 BILLION that belongs to residents and former residents of the state. Just go to site, click on unclaimed funds and put in last name and beginning of first name (no commas)if you find yourself...print it out...get it notarized and send it off...Good Luck...Ellen

Just to let everyone know and be prepared if there are funds available for you, have all types of documents ready to be copied and sent off to get your funds. This includes marriage certificates, death certicates, proof of address from possibly many years ago. Also be prepared to fill out a table of heirs if funds are avaialable from someone that has expired. I did this and it took about 8 months to get $659.00 and many trips to get papaerwork notorized. It's a long process and not so easy!
