I LOVE HIM AND HIS STAFF!!

I called the office the night I came home from the hospital (answering service) and he called me right back. My leg was numb and I was nervous about blood clots, but it turned out to be ciatic nerve (sp?) b/c I was laying in one psition b/c of pain and the drain and all.

He is a great Dr. w/ a great beside manner (which is good b/c I heard of some Dr's who arent very sympathetic).  His staff is very knowledgeable- I always call or come in will a bazillion questions and they can always answer them.

Also, my 1 month labs showed my iron a bit low so they called me and called a prescription for Repliva for me.  Some Dr's arent as proactive w/ labs so I was happy about that.

PM me if you have any other questions.  I definitely recommend him!

Dr. Brathwaite is wonderful!!  He is competent and compassionate.  I always felt comfortable asking questions, and he explained everything to me and my family. His staff is also pleasant and knowledgeable.

Dr.Brathwaite is also very particular about the care his patients receive in the hospital. You will be well taken care of.  I am extremely happy with Dr. Brathwaite and with the outcome of my surgery thus far (3 mos. post op).I have had no complications and have lost 47 lbs to date.

Good luck on your journey!!!

Dr. B was my first choice for a surgeon until....he got aggressive and wanted to remove my stomach after bypass!!  I saw 3 other surgeons after that and went elsewhere.  Also, after your are post-op, you will not see much of Dr. B again :(  He is running a slaughter house and has many people on staff that will intercede for him.  I know many people who have had post-op issues with him and complications.  He takes on the most challenging of cases so that is perhaps why  he his success rate is lower than many other rny bypass surgeons on L.I.  Just my opinion and I'm sure he has many other patients who sing different praises.  The first thing I would do is have my upper endoscopy to make sure you don't have any polyps...once they found them inside my stomach even though benign, Dr. B wanted to remove it entirely!!  Which other surgeons felt was  much too aggressive of an approach.  Seek 2nd opinions.

You should check out my surgeon Dr. Garber - He is the most experienced bariatric surgeon on Long Island and the best bedside manner and is available 24/7 and answers emails right away.  He also does the Lap-Band with only a single incision hidden in the belly button instead of 5 incisions like Dr. B.  I promise you will be happy with Dr. Garber. Run and don't walk to go see him. Email me any questions.
