Any Long Islanders?

Hi, I'm from Medford, Long Island.  I had my RNY in July and have lost 85 pounds so far.  I go to Dr. Brathwaite's support group in Patchogue and have been to the support group at Pat-Med Library.  I'd like to go to the LIPO one too but I get very confused with all the dates!  I have to look up when they all meet!  I hope to see you at one of the Support Groups.

I go to the LIPO meetings and I love them! The next meeting is Jan 20th--we meet once a month--the 3rd Tuesday of the month. But, we also meet once a month for a physical activity--totally optional. This month is BOWLING!!!   YaY I am excited, can ya tell? LOL It will be on the 11th at the Sayville Lanes. =) Come on down!

By the way, always check here for LIPO updates just in case any dates change. =)

Hi. Another former LI'er here.... I use to live in Plainview but am now living in Atlanta... well the suburbs of Atlanta. I tried the GA board but it's like the twilight zone over there.

Sure you can hang out here! It's funny, my best friend used to live here on Long Island, but she also moved down to Georgia--she's in Acworth--is that near you at all?

Hi CC I live in Plainview but 30 years ago I lived in the suburbs of Atlanta!!

I had my surgery with Dr. Powers an associate of Dr. Geiss's.

I lost 32 lbs since July 29th, 2008 and can't seem to loose any more.

Hiya, Dreamer!

I had my surgery on Dec. 1st and I have lost 38 lbs since coming home from the hospital. But, in the past week or two, it seems to have stalled and I am playing around with the same few pounds. It is verrrrry frustrating!!

I am diabetic, so I know I am still fighting my body with that and I must confess that I have been struggling to get enough liquid in, but I am trying!!!

If you'd like to share, what do you think has been the issue for you? Maybe we can help one another... =)

I'm from Long Island also.......Bay Shore to be exact.  I've attending the LIPO mtgs, Good Sam meetings & of course my support group mtgs in Syssoset.  I haven't been to the one at the Pat/Medford Library but definately would love to attend it.

hello my name is stephanie and i live in central islip. i too went to sachem class of 91. what year did you graduate. i have my rny on november 12,2007. i am down 170 pounds. i couldnt be happier. i started at 340 pounds and now weight 170. YEAH!!!!!!!!  i do not belong to any support groups as i didnt know where any were. my surgen tried but it never worked out there was only 2 other people besides myself. what im looking for mostly is a work out partner. i am lazy alone, but when someone is with me im a luntic. i would love to get a walking buddy if anyone is interested. i know its cold but im game. any takers???? nice meeting everyone and hope to chat soon.
