Oh, I didn't know there was one in BayShore... do you know any of the details? I go to the LIPO meetings in Sayville--maybe you'd be interested? It's a little drive for you, but it's a great meeting! =)
The next one is Jan. 20th and I think we are going bowling at Sayville Lanes on Sat, Jan 11th--in case you want to join us! You could be on my team, although I should warn you, I'm not very good! LOL I'm fun, though!  =)

Well, let me know about that BayShore one if you can and maybe we'l see you at the LIPO meeting--let me know if you need more info  =)

Hugs!

That makes a lot of sense! I still think I know nothing or know enough, but sometimes just am not sure what to do! This site has been wonderful and so has my support group! One piece of advice, especially before your sugery--make lists of some of the things you know--like how many carbs or what foods you'll be able to have at what stage and tape them up in your kitchen. That way, you'll be able to shop before your surgery and when you are going in the fridge for food, you'll know what to choose from. =)

Good luck and happy Holidays!

Hey KittyKat!

The day is nearing!! I wish you tons of luck and good thoughts for your surgery! You will see how much it will change your life! As for me, Iam doing well, healing nicely...it's very difficult for me adjusting to this new way of life--I'm struggling to get my liquid in and fighting my diabetes still...But, the good news is that I do feel so much better and I see results already!

I understand what you say about all this info floating around in your head! I still feel the same way sometimes! I feel like I know so much, but know nothing! LOL When you feel this way, though, just take a deep breath, think a little and you'll realize that you do know what is right! The catch is, you've got to do it, which I don't always, but I'm trying! =)

Well, again, good luck!!!! And, if I can offer anything, let me know.. =)

Hugs and Best Wishes!

I'm also from Middle Island an my banding is 2 days away on 12/23. Dr Mehta is my surgeon and she is an absolute doll. She tells it like it is and really has put me at ease. Her staff is great also and really worked hard to get me in under some real tough cir****tances. They hold a support group in Riverhead monthly that has been great

Hi everyone,   I am formerly from Long Island...south shore..Lynbrook.  I miss it a lot. I miss all my friends and most of my family LOL..  If you ask me the best people around come from Long Island.  I am just about 2 weeks away from my RNY up here is the Albany area.  I live outside of Lake George...but decided to go to the bigger area for surgery.  I am very excited and nervous all at the same time.  Tomm is my pre-op testing and meeting with the surgeon.  I am really blown away that all this is happening so fast.  I can't wait to be on the loser's bench with everyone.  I feel like I am trapped in someone else's body right now...I want to be able to run, and have fun with my 2 small children and ride bikes this summer with them.  Right now we have 23" of snow, so we are kinda looking at sledding, which is fun, but I would enjoy it more if I didn't have this excess weight on me, so wait until next year.. YIPPEY   I will go crazy with the kids then.
