My fiance called me this EARLY morning to tell me he had just woken up from a nightmare, In this dream I had my surgery and I no longer needed him. In reality, I havent had surgery yet. Im looking at January (hopefully).. My problem is this, how do I ease his mind? We have been together forever and he honestly treats me like a goddess. He is my number one support and I love him dearly. Anyone have a situation like this? Advice would be appreciated.
thanks, Nicky

Well, my husband is also very supportive and I know how lucky I am since many spouses are not! I'm not sure if my advice will help, but maybe let your fiance know that right after the surgery, you will definately need him to help you sit up, sit down, shower, put on your underwear, etc LOL It's a little crazy not to be able to do those things yourself, but it is true, so you will need him for that. Then, after you heal, you will need him to help you enjoy all the things you probably can't do now. At least that is how I feel. I told my husband that when I can, I want to do everything! Of course, he asked what everything is and I said I didn't know exactly--just everything I couldn't do before the surgery. So, my advice is...just let him know that you'll need him to help you enjoy life and to help you remember what things were like before the surgery--so you never go back there again. =)
Hope that helped! Good luck with your surgery and your upcoming marriage! =)
