DS surgeon in suffolk or Nassau county?

I am still researching my surgery options... my insurance will cover banding, RNY, or DS. Ive been looking but have not seen a doctor close enough to me that offers DS. ( I work about 60 hrs a week and live on eastern longisland) so going much farther than nassau would make things very difficult.

Tami why don't you just come to NYC?  Mitchell Roslin, M.D. is EXCELLENT!!!

There are no well known DS surgeons on the Island. Dr. Herron is somewhere in Nassau I believe, but he performs his surgeries in the city and I've never met a DSer whose had surgery with him. I'd recommend Roslin, Pomp, or Shah in NYC to peform your surgery (yes in that order).

I travelled from orange county NY to NYC to get the surgery done, and let me tell you it wasn't bad. You spend several days in the hospital, when they release you, you go home for a couple of weeks, at which point you have to go to Dr. Roslin's office (train to penn and then a cab). It wore me out, but I was able to go to all my follow ups by train starting at 3 weeks out.

I also live on eastern LI and my surgeon is Dr. Collin Brathwaite. He has an office in Patchogue just past 112 on E  Woodside Ave. He is an amazing man and surgeon! I had my lapband done last Monday. His office # is 631-475-1900
