I have a cold and dont know what I can take anymore

I have an awful dry cough with the feeling of flem in my throat and I am not sure what I can take for it I am three weeks out from surgery.  I have been taking my vitamins and I jsut dont know what to take for this because I knwo there is certain things you are not supposed to take after surgery.  can anyone give me an idea of what has worked for you. thanks...

Based on the physical conditions you might have ( ie, HBP), you should check with your doctor.  However, you should be pretty safe with any of the OTC Tylenol cold products.

Yes I would agree with Lou, check with your Dr, they might have you come in for something! Also he is right about the OTC tylenol!

So I did contact my PCP and she stated that she has no idea what I can take post op and told me to call my surgeon.  the suregeons office did reccomend any tylenol products. thanks guys

I know that the NyQuil/DayQuil products main ingredient is acetaminophen which is the generic/medical name for Tylenol.
