Thanksgiving went really well. It was just myself, hubby, 3 kids and mom-in-law. I got up early and started the turkey. Only did a 14 pounder, but it was more than enough. I made pretty much every side dish you could ever want as well. There was just so much food!! I went totally overboard. After it was all said and done, I sat down to my dinner which consisted of; 2ozs of turkey, a table spoon of mashed potatoes and a tablespoon of gravy split over the turkey and potatoes.. then I really splurged and I somehow managed to get down almost two tablespoons of corn nibblets... (I felt weird when mom-in-law was watching me weigh/measure everything.. but the weighing/measuring every single thing is something I've became a stickler about) Oh how I wanted a bit of pumpkin pie, but I didn't dare. I've discovered that my sugar limit is about 6 to 7 grams.. anything over that and I get pretty sick feeling, although I've yet to ever "dump" or even throw up for that matter..  It was a store baked pie, no nutrition values on the label and I didn't know how much sugar was it in.. I'm sure that one itty bite wouldn't be over 7 grams of sugar.. still I didn't want to chance it.

Next week it will be 4 months since my surgery. The weight loss is slowing down already, but I'm already really happy where I am at.  As of this morning I've lost 61 pounds (10 of that was on the two week pre-surgery liquid diet) putting me exactly 30 pounds from "goal".  I've went from a size 20,(honestly it was probably a 22, but I didn't dare buy anything labeled a 22, I just squeezed into a 20) and I'm currently in a loose 14.. actually I even own a few 12/14 size pieces.

My diabetes is completely 100 percent GONE!!!  My last A1C before surgery was 10.7..  as of 11/19 it was 6.2.  Where I used to be on 100+ units of insulin a day and still would have sugar readings of 300+ for the last couple of years..   For over about a month and half now I've been off all insulin and in the mornings I test at around 60 and no more than 115 after meals.   Totally amazing!!!

Even though I have so much to be happy about right now. The hair loss kind of negates quite a bit. My hair is soo thin. I knew it would happen. I expected it.. but to be honest, I didn't expect it to be as bad has it has been. Showers are the worst.. the amount of hair that ends up in the drain after my showers is really horrifying.. at least to me. I'm do keep hearing from people that they can't tell, but they just have to trying to be nice. There is no way you can't not see the huge gap/white scalp where my hair parts. It's starting to make me even more self conscience than the weight did. :(

Also, last but not least.. I'm pretty unhappy with things relationship wise. :( Nothing new there really. It's been that way for a long time.. Things are just starting to be more pronounced.. it's getting harder to hide it from others. I keep trying and trying to make things work, but in the end I know it's not going to.. Knowing this leads me to feeling depressed and I just don't know what to do about anything.

You sound as if you are really committed to make your tool work for you. As far as the hair loss, it is a temporary thing. If your labs are good and you are getting in the appropriate amount of protein and water, then it should resolve itself. You are in your 4th month which is usually about the time that your hair will thin.
I wish you luck in your personal life.
