I am glad to see many of yo had a great Thanksgiving, I was so excited to be able to eat squash and potatoes with gravy, I even tried a few bites of turkey.  I was stuffed so fast being the first meal that I was allowed to eat that was not all liquids.  I even had a quarter piece of pumpkin pie and didnt get sick, I was even willing to get sick to have it but I didnt.  So I was so happy.  Hope everyone else enjoyed their Thanksgiving.

Hi Nick! I am still on full liquids, so I kind- of skipped Thanksgiving dinner. I showed up after and had a nice time though and it was nice not to be all bloated and gas-y like everyone else! I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, pumpkin pie....mmmm.....wonderful!
Take care, see ya 'round!

You are amazing!

I didn't do to bad, last year I would have sat down and had 800 - 1000 calories for Thanksgiving dinner, this year I had 875 calories for the total day, I made sure I had my 3 onuces of turkey and a tablespoon of green bean casserole and 1 tablespoon of sweet potatoes, and bit of tossed salad, 1 tablespoon of stuffing, I was stuffed! About 2 hours later I had a tablespoon of cheesecake thats the sweetest thing I have had since before the surgery April 2nd. The great thing was that I was satisfied with my meal, I didn't look around wishing I could have that or this or a few pieces of apple or pumpkin pie or whatever, I had no desire or wish to have more.

It is funny that you say that because I didnt even realize it but I was also satisfied with the little I had.  I was not upset about not having a whole piece of pumpkin and a piece of apple pie I was happy with my tastes of things and because I am not quite three weeks out from surgery again I added unflavored protein powder to my mashed potatoes and gravy because I was afraid of how the turkey would digest this soon to being out (Dr. said to try it).  I do have to say that I did try the chocolate fudge and the little tiny 1/100th of a piece and I was satisfied and havn't really craved any of the sweets like I used to.  It used to be if I had sugar I wanted more and more and now I don't crave it.  That is an awesome feeling.

I enjoyed my family and our time together, it is one thing I cherish and GRATEFUL for. Typically I cook but my SIL did it all this year (she did last year as we were moving.selling our home). Although I can eat alot more than you all speak of being 6 yrs out i still ate much less than preop! I had surgery in Oct 2002 my first thanksgiving was the most satisfying after WLS I was satisfied and full on a few bites of turkey a tsp mashed potatoes a few peas and a bite of stuffing and sqash. LOL everyone was so worried I waste away eating that little now they comment on how much I can eat! How things change but dont! LOL ENJOY!

My thanksgiving was a lot better than expected. I pureed my turkey w/ gravy (it was a chicken salad consistancy) and had a small spoon of sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and a few crutos of stuffing and was so full. It was really strange (and awesome) to look around at everyone elses plates and think back to last year when I ate that much.  I thought I would miss out, but I really didnt feel deprived at all.
