What kind of birth control to use? pls help
Mirena is FAR different than DEPO (WHICH I DO NOT RECOMMEND due to wt gain and bone loss!)
Mirena I have had over 4yrs and love it! (This is after being on BCPs for 12 yrs up until WLS when surgeon and obgyn said can not trust this form due to rapid wt loss and hormonal surges, malabsorbtion of the pill and risk with any duping or vomiting it will be lost dose one day...
I barely spotted 2-3x yrin past 4 1/2 yrs no need for female products for me beyond little panty liner few times a year! Talk to yoour OBGYN and wls re this but I know they are good for 5 yrs! I also tried the nuvaring (yuck irritating to me and hubby) and patch (I dont recommend this due to need to be under 169# for best effect, I had horrid breast tenderness beyond expected and othr s/e it has increased risk blood clots beyond standard BCPs also)............
So MIRENA is a good choice just check if it is good for you individually! I loved it as I never had kids and prior to this IUDs were outfor nulliparious women!

I've been on the Mirena IUD for about 4 years. I don't know that I had any weight gain that I would attribute to the birth control. I tried Depro about 10 years ago and that was BAD NEWS. Back to the IUD....it's been great for me. As a matter of fact I have almost no bleeding at all. Almost all of my PMS symptoms has gone. At he very begining I had some spotting but never bad. If you have any more specific questions I'll answer if I can.
if you are considering IUDs, ParaGard is worth looking into/asking your Dr about. Its good for 10 yrs instead of Mirena's 5, and it doesn't use hormones like Mirena does. I've had mine put in almost 2 years ago, the first 2 or 3 periods were heavier and more painful than usual, but after that they got lighter, shorter, barely ano pain at all, and no in-between spotting. I'm not saying its the best, or that everyone should get it, but its working great for me
