Stopped losing weight!
I had my surgery 4 weeks ago. The first week I lost 14 lbs, the second week 7.5 lbs, the third week 5 lbs. Then the scale stopped moving!! In the last eight days I have gained a pound.I am truly following everything to the letter, three small meals (chicken, turkey or fish with small amt of veggie) and a high protein snack (usually an ounce or so of low fat cheese). I am walking as much as my chubby body will tolerate, and then some. Is it usual to plateau this early?
Is there a way to jump start my weight loss? I am starting to get discouraged. Today I eliminated the snack. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I really want to suceed this time.

Debbie: here is your choice, weigh everyday, decide this is about wt changing and be frustrated, disappointed and loose track of the goal (health), miss the honeymoon to change your life and maintain down the road as this scale watching can be a setup for sabotage. Plateuas happen, we are bot in control fully. We can influence things or we can choose to see this about LIFECHANGING then and only then when we focus on that the scale moves when it will and the angst over it is gone, we start to embrace being healthy and all the lifestyle facotrs we need to employ for that to happen the shift is not easy it can not happen overnight but it can hapen that is my opinion of the choice we have pre op be well, this is normal normal normal what is happening and how u feel..........................

The worst thing you can do is weigh yourself everyday. I am going to be a year on Nov. 20 and have lost 105 pounds. I try not to weigh myself only about once a week. I go by how my clothes are fitting and how I feel. That scale is the devil. I had plateaus too but you will keep losing. Keep up the good work.

I had my lap band surgery almost 6 weeks ago and had the same thing happen...21 pounds in the first 3 weeks and then just 7 over the next 3 weeks. The nutritionist at my doctors said to weigh myself monthly and that with lap band 10 pounds a month is average weight loss. Try not to be discouraged although I know it's hard sometimes. Most importantly keep up the great work!!!
