Reminder - NEW Long Island WLS support group

I am so excited to announce to you all, that my wls friend who i met here on OH and I are going to be holding our first meeting of the Sunrise WLS Support Group TONIGHT!!!



The meetings will be held at the Patchogue Medford Library on Main Street in Patchogue.  There is parking available behind the building.  The meetings will be from 7:00-9:00 every other Tuesday.  The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for TONIGHT  -Tuesday November 4th.  We know this is Election Day but we want to get started.  The first meeting will be from 7:00-8:00 so people can still vote. Here are the directions....

Heading West:

From the Long Island Expressway: take Exit 64 (Route 112), at 112 make a left heading south to end, at E. Main Street make a right.  Continue down to number 54 East Main Street; library is on left hand side.

From Sunrise Highway: take Exit 53 (Route 112), at 112 make a left heading south to end, at E. Main Street make a right.  Continue down to 54 East Main Street, library is on left hand side.

Heading East:

How did your first mtg go?  Did you schedule another mtg for this month and if so when and where and time of course?

The first meeting was a blast!! We had a lot of fun. I live in Bay Shore as well.. How cool is that!!! lol  ... Our next meeting is NOV 25th. at the Patchogue - Medford Library --- room A -- the room is down stairs. the stairs is at the front of the library. It will start at 7 pm and end at 9pm. I hope you can join us next time. If you do and can make it, please bring your before and after photos. I am really looking forward meeting you. Either way .....Please keep in touch. :-)

The support group is NOT just for gastric bypass patients , its for anyone who had the weight loss surgery who wants additional support. My girlfriend , Siobha'n HAD lap band surgery - so if there is anyone or you - Christine ....who would like support with the lap band , Siobha'n is the lady to speak with. ( in Aug Siobha'n had gastric bypass.) She lost 85lbs and , let me tell you , wow , I see a huge difference already!! Even though I didn't have the lap band , I will always be here for you as well... or for anyone who wants additional support.

I hope next time you can make it....I am looking forward to meeting you. :-)

I won't be able to make the next meeting, I will most likely still be in the hospital after having my gastric bypass....hooray!!!  I will definitely try to make the next one though....I live in West Islip so it isn't too far...

congrats on having surgery!!! Thats fantastic!!!  Hey ....if you are feeling up to it, yes , you are more then welcome to come and join us. I would love to meet you and hear about your surgery.  Get plently of rest , drink your water and make sure you get up and walk. every 2 hours or so. Just move around a little bit..... Best wishes to you. I am looking forward to meeting you as well. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.... Keep us updated on how you are doing.

awww man , I wish you could attend, too. Well, if ya ever in the area , you are more then welcome to join us. :-)  Hey , How about going online in google and finding a support group near where you live ? Or  you can just start a WLS support group yourself , then get people together! If I can do it , You can do it....too!!! Think about it :-)
