I got a date!!

Well, I am officially pre-op! I got the call today and I am going to have my surgery (open rny) on November 18. I was actually totally surprised because my consultation was on 10/16, and they said I should expect a call late November to schedule surgery in late December or early January! But my insurance company (Univera) moved fast, Super fast!
I am so excited that I do not know what to do.  Dr. Caruana's office is the best!
I actually did dance around yelling for like an hour!
I AM TOTALLY FREAKING OUT!!!

Congrats!!!  I am 2 days after you!!!  You sound so excited!!!  I am too.  And I have to admit a little nervous right now too.  Just had the consult w/ a dietician today and I got a little more nervous. LOL...Take care.

I have my consult with Dr. Caruana on 11/13 - hopefully Independent Health with be as quick as Univera!  You must be so excited!! 11/18 will be here before you know it! You'll have to start stocking up on protein powders and other supplies now. I'll be anxious to hear how you're doing.

Congrats!!  That was super fast!  Don't freak out!  Breathe.  I just had my surgery with Dr. Caruana on the 13th, you are in GREAT hands!

Thanks everyone! When I first started thinking about bypass surgery, the idea of being able to loose the excess weight was just a fantasy to me. Now, everyday I get one step closer to it becoming a reality and I am so hopeful. I am simply overjoyed and eager to put into place everything I have learned. I just wanted to share that...OBESITY HELP IS THE BEST!!!

Yes, you are in good hands..I had my surgery on 5/10/07...lost 130 pounds...at my goal..and feel like a million.  Good luck...you will have lots of "freaking out"...keep us updated.
