Not really understand the new me?
So I am back to work and I sort of feel better BUT still have alot of anxiety and sometimes feel very sad and i am not sure why. I am thinking the meds I am on are not working that well. The Efexor maybe isn't the pill for me...i will see thearapist again in Thursday and I am telling them I am not satified with the way I feel. i kow that form blood wotk that was done that I have no estrogene at all which makes me think I am very hormanal from not having any at all. I have been with out a uterus for almost 4 yrs. When i was heavier all tyhe fat cells stored estrongen so I still had some nkow that I have lost 118 pounds I really should feel great and out of the blue I feel like i might me losing it. i keep asking myself of I am crazy...I kow I am not BUT I see the changes in me!! I was always out going and say what I think now I am withdrawn and really only want to chat with people I am close to when B4 I would talk whoever whenever??? Has anyone else felt this way 8 months out after losing so much weight. I keep wondering why I worry so much about things that normal people probably do not even take a second thought on and why I let everyday life bother me some much. I even let my clients that yell at me at wokr bother me??? Please any input would be helpful at this point. I am not CRAZY right??? Thanks again Bridgit

HI Bridgit. I am sorry to hear you are having some ups/downs. I don't think you are crazy. I have heard in my support group and from Dr's on our baritatric team, that hormones do change after surgery for some people. I would definitely recommend speaking with your Therapist as well as your surgeon and see if there is another solution/alternative to the medication you are taking now. I would also recommend, from personal experience, to continue with counseling/therapy if you are not right now, as this will help you deal with things you are still struggling with. But it does sound like to me, based on what you have said in your post, this may be just a hormonal thing, and tweaking your meds may be the answer.
Good luck with this & keep us posted !!!!!

2 things:
Effexor is a sustained release med and may not be the best choice for a bypass patient (may not be absorded well or at all)
Even if you absorb it it can take up to 12 weeks for remissionof all symptoms, IF you are at the right DOSE!
Effexor is typically needed at dose of 150mg many folks need higher like up to 375mg....so it may be ok for you just not at the right dose, esp if you have had some benefit at it, I typically raise until effecot or intolerable sideeffect be well.
