Ellis appointment this morning!
I called my insurance company last month and there were no special requirments that they mentioned. I am hoping to be scheduled next month for surgery. We have double insurance right now until the end of Novemeber. We are thinking of dropping the secondary. It sounds like it takes some time though. I also was supposed to have sleep study done several months ago before WLsurgery was mentioned for snoring but Dr.s cancelled it due to tech being sick. I never resceduled because I had decided on WLS. I figured weight loss would help my snoring. I never snored when I was thin!
Well, I am off to Ellis!
It is a 45 miniute drive.

RNY ~ 01/25/2008 Terrence Clarke (Ellis Hosptial Bariatric Center).... Lower Body Lift with butt lift and upper thigh lift ~ 07/14/2009 Sanjiv Kayastha (K Plastic Surgery) -- LOVE IT !!!!
My appointment went great! They seem to be so organized and efficient! I waited 5 min and got right in! That never happens anywhere!
I saw the nurse first. The dreaded weigh in. UGHHHH! I weighed 212.1 lbs. I thought I was 5'2" but it turns out that I just a smidge over 5' ! My blood pressure was up (nothing new). I saw Dr. Panemanglore. He seemed very nice. Cute, little guy with a sense of humor. I liked him. He did the info session at the hospital. He said I was a candidate, explained the RNY(which I have chosen), etc. I spoke with Kim and she said that she will be sending info and other appts. Asked if I had any major events so not to schedule surgery around same time. I mentioned that I would like to have it before end of Nov.(due to being double insured till then), but she mentioned that she was looking at January for date. I said that I have 16 days off at Christmas(school schedule) that I would not have to take time off from work. She will check that date. So hopefully December! I will only have to do the 2 weeks Medifast too. Then, I went for blood work downstairs.
Overall, I am pretty excited!
Oh, I am from Gansevoort-Wilton. 10 min. north of Saratoga.

Have you attended any support groups?
i would love to check one out before surgery. Monday night I am not able to attend. I take graduate classes in Vermont that night. There is one on Wednesday nights. Saratoga I think. Right?
Have you had any difficulties? Are there any other sites or blogs that you like? This site has been the best for info! I have also been copying recipes for protein ice creams, mushy foods etc. I am so unorganized now with meals and such that I am afraid that after surgery that I will eat the same thing day in and day out for lack of being organized in planning.
Thank you for your reply and hope to chat again! I'll be frequently forum loitering!
It is nice to know that you live close by also.
Thanks,
Lisa
are you kidding i was the the queen of fast food. my life with the kids is sooo crazy i ate what ever. really organizing my meals has not been so hard. i too took alot of ideas from this site.i will forward along to you all th things i have eaten the past few weeks. to be honet i have not had one problem, i feel great. No problems with eating or drinking. Im not hungry so for the first time in my life eating is an effort however. i have stuck to his plan faithfully and that had made things go really smooth. im not a protein drink fan they gross me out. i seem to have beter luck with just adding scoops to my food i cant even taste it then, and i only put protein foods in my mouth. there is something about the protein drink that just dont settle well with me. everyone is different though.
i have gone to one support group and was planning on going to the next one. Im not sure about the one is saratoga that would definatly be closer ill have to look in to that one.
talk to you soon
karen
