Yadda Yadda Yadda.....I am stuck over 3 months.....I need a support group in Queens, that I can be accountable to. Does anyone know of any? I live in Bayside, Queens, NY........Or does anyone know of a exercise group.....or weight loss buddy. I am tired of doing this alone. I need to speak with others about how I am feeling.

I was banded 2 and half years ago and lost 60 pounds. I had revision surgery in July 08 due to band slippage.  Haven't lost anything since....need to drop those last 50 pounds and I am stuck.....mentally, phyically and spiritually. I need a good talking to. LOL

Thanks for the info in advance.

Susan:

For me when I focus on a number, a diet, the scale, food etc. I miss a few very important things. One is the lifestyle and the daily effort that is required on my part to live IN THE MOMENT physically and emotionally. Taking responsibility for myself consistently is my goal...the food, wt, scale always come along when I have that focus.. The other thing I miss out on is the emotional side of me...

I am so glad you are reaching out for support, for me I struggle in isolation but thrive in community with SUPPORTIVE, non shaming and sabotaging friends and family around me.... The lessons of saying NO, setting healhty boundaries all are a piece of my journey to self care...

Not sure you 'need a good talking to' the shame, judgment simply can reinforce our stuckness. Consider letting go, accepting where you are at and being KIND, GENTLE, LOVING and NURTURING to YOU! THis is my recipe for getting past a plateau.....For the longer I struggle with not accepting the more stuck I can become if that makes sense.

The positive 'glass half full view' is you have lost 60# or if you had 110# to lose 55% of excess weight.

The negative 'glass half empty view' is you still have 50# you want to lose or 45% more excess weight.

So many things in life we have no control over, granted we have some influence with our physical, emotional and spiritual self..but our wt is not in our total control, nor is all the events in life. I find strength in how I can control my response to life being hard at times...

You have had a successful surgery, you have surpassed statistics!!!

The harsh reality is no one can expect ANY WLS "TOOL" to give 100% excess wt loss...for all are imperfect, all can be defeated, but the focus IMHO is on being as healthy as possible and that lifestyle again..*I sure wish someone never invented that hunkametal* sometimes...

Support group is a tool to help us stay with the lifestyle..HUGS!

PS I just did a presentation locally on "Getting Back On Track" I have the powerpoint presentation *MB or so if you want to see it email me off list!!!
