I'm Home!
Had my Verticle Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) October 1 at the Cleveland Clinic.
They kept me there a week, came home Tuesday Oct 7. Just had to run around and get things set-up for home post-op.
I'm doing well. Muscle discomfort. Still have my drain in as I am the "risky" patient I'm still draining quite a bit of fluid.
While in there, they did the sleeve, fixed a hernia and did a liver biopsy. So, because of all that, they wanted to keep the drain in another week.
The Doc (Dr. Schauer), the hospital, staff, and bariatric unit were AWESOME! I had a HUGE private room!
Anyways adjusting to a mix of liquid and puree....I'm being really careful and haven't push my ne stomach yet.

Don,
Welcome home and congratulations on your surgery! The first few weeks are the most difficult, so hang in there. Don't forget to keep sipping and walking. I'm glad that you had such a positive experience in the hospital.
Keep us up to date as you progress.
Hugs,
Lisa
