HI! my 1st post...

I just wanted to say hi, my name is Mary, I live in Lackawanna (that's Western New York) I have my consultation scheduled with Dr. Caruana on October 16, I am totally psyched!! My impatience is increasingly shorter every day but I am holding on! I have been reading all the posts and I love this site, I have actually found that most of ny questions have already been addressed in some way somewhere on the boards, which is why this is my first post here...I have been blogging and reading and looking, just not posting! umm...did I mention that I tend to ramble?! Anyway, thanks to ANYONE *****ads this for taking the time to read this! see ya 'round!

Welcome! You are in wonderful hands with Dr. Caruana. He is amazing! Your consultation will be here in no time. Then, hopefully, a surgery date won't be long after that. You are smart to be here on OH, trying to learn as much as possible. That will only help you in your efforts to achieve a healthy body and weight.

It looks like we will be having surgery around the same time. I have a nutrition appt. on 10/20, then I'll be able to schedule with Dr. Caruana. I can't wait! I understand how you feel when you say you're getting more and more impatient! Good luck, and keep us posted!

Yes, you are in good hands with Dr. Caruana...I had my surgery 5/10/07...I am 3 pounds below goal..and luckily have had no complications....good luck...keep us updated!

Mary, from one rambler to another, welcome!!!! I lurked for a while too when I first started this journey. I had a ton of questions that I found answers to long before I started posting also!! Don't be afraid to jump on with any questions you have - the folks on this board rock & nobody judges or belittles anyone no matte what!!!! It's a good place to come!!

Hi there, just wanted to reassure you that you have picked an excellent surgeon.  I had my surgery on 10/8 and so far everything is turning out well.  According to my scale I have already lost 10 lbs!   Be patient, I promise you....once you have your consultation  your surgery will be right around the corner...for you it will most likely be sometime in December.  My initial consultation w/ Dr. C was on 8/7/08...they called me on 9/8 to tell me my surgery date was on 10/8.....and that last month flew by!
