psycologist
I just replied to another post about this guy. I saw him last week and had a bad impression from the first second. I found him to be rude, condescending, nasty, and uninformed. He did not seem to have any empathy at all, which is something that I feel a psychologist MUST have. He was totally disinterested in anything I had to say- he spent the whole time scolding me for eating out too often. I'm a little nervous about what his "recommendations" are going to be, now that I read about the roadblocks he put up for others. When this is all over and done with I will for sure let Dr. Caruana's office know how I feel, as well as his certifying body.

he "scolded" me as well about eating out --- he didnt even care that i said i was eating salads from wegmans salad bar!!! he said any eating out is bad...
so i freaked out and requested that a report be sent to me as well and all that was in it was that i eat out "x" times a week and he recommended i see a nutritionist before surgery...
dont worry!!!

I am so sorry to hear that someone who is supposingly a "professional" would treat people so badly. I am post-op as of 9/10/08 and had Dr. Fitzer in New Hartford, NY for a surgeon. The psycologist I was sent to was extremely supportive and very nice. I think I may have been in his office a whole 15 minutes. I can't believe you are all going through or have had to go through such horrible experiences with this man. There is only one psycologist in that area? I am surprised the surgeons are still referring their patients to him.

Dr. Lelito is not a very nice psycologist. But I think he is trying to get us upset with him, so he can evaluate us. I think he said that I ate out too much too! He suggested that I meet with a nutritionist before my appt with Dr. Caruana, but I did not have to do that.
My friends that I have from the support group meetings all have similar comments about Dr. Ron Lelito. But we all have had our gastric bypass and we would do it over again in a heartbeat. We have no regrets.
