How do you make a protein shake taste decent? I bought Body Fortress Chocolate protein powder in Walmart and made a shake tonight.  I just don't like it at all! Does anyone have some good ideas for me?

Not all protein shakes are equal.  Some taste better than others.  To salvage this one, you could try adding SF syrup of a favorite flavor to boost the flavor.  Or try a spoon of SF maple syrup or SF peanut butter.  How about a spoon or two of SF coolwhip for some body?

I have found folks fit into one of the following categories (although there may be more!) tis is mere obsservation not judgment.

1) Those who like just about any shake, naked w/o doctoring it up (water, poweder and perhaps ice) shaken or blended.

2) Those who like just about any shake, doctored up with things such as: sugar free syrups (Davinci, torani, artisan etc), a tsp or two of sf jello mixes or a tsp or two of sf/ff pudding mixes, extracts...a few frozen beries, a 1/4 C pumpkin etc...a little decaf coffee instant powder, diet koolaids or the such vs water, 1/4c or so of hood calorie countdown milkd bveage low cal and low carbs!

3) Those who only find ONR or prehaps a couple of whey proteins they can stomach dcotored or naked...

4) Those who do not ever LIKE protein but drink it not for enjoyment but knowledge only of the need to have this as a suppliment for their wellness and health...

5) Those who can not do it no matter what...

6) Those who never try due to no knowledge of benefit or other reasons....

7) Those who add milk to their shakes and also add up the calories and carb/sugar content and can possibly decrease wt loss and increase their hunge in the process...all in the name to get them down..

Some ideas:
Tasted change pre to post op for many.. don't get too attached to a shake preop you may bot tolerate postop (although if taking in true sense of a suppliment vs enjoyment can find a way to drink them sometimes)...

Samples are key, places like www.vitalady.com www.bariatriceating.com or www.enjoyhealth.com carry samples...thus buying a few vs large tubs that get wasted....

I love PVL whey gourmet ANY of the 15 varieties, Champion pure whey stack (Choc, banana or strawberry not vanilla), Labrada Prov 60 has good nilla, IDS cinnamin vanilla is good, the nectars by syntrax such as apple, kiwistraberry fuzynavel are good, my hubby non wlser likes the cappucchino (?Sp) from syntrax...

I am a can drnk just about any naked or doctored but I like my PVL best. Here are some of my recioes, a magic bullet helps but I do ok with a shaker too in a pinch! For me they are for life not everyone agrees do what works for you!

I do not support the Carnation instant breakfast NSA it is ladden in carbs 12g in a pack or so before folks add milk! (another 13g carbs) for a mere 4g protein this is not a shake this is drinking your calories/sugar IMHO....

A good shake should have 90-130cal a scoop with 0-3g fat and 0-3g carbs, 20-26g protein from whey (isolate and or concentrate).... this is most bioavailable......

She sell packets of Protien Samples. There are plenty to try before spending a great deal of money. I happen to like the protein posder by CHAMPION. Banana is good and so is chocolate. Tastes like a milk shake. I also used to use Fruit 2-0 instead of milk or water. It gives a nice fruit taste to it.

I love the Carnation Instant Breakfast for my protein shake.  You need to buy the ones that say "no sugar added" on the box and then add a 1/4 cup of fat-free powdered milk to it.  With the 8 oz of skim milk and the carnation instant breakfast and the 1/4 cup of powdered milk your protein is going to be 20 grams.  That is just as good as about any "protein drink" on the market...and it tastes good.  Also if you go to carnationinstantbreakfast.com they have all kinds of recipes for drinks with their product...smoothies and such.  Most people don't realize just how much protein is in this product and they don't realize that there is a product out there with very little grams of sugar in them.  I think your going to love this stuff.  Good luck.
