Eating Out For the Last Time Before Surgery!

Tonight Steve and I went out to Charlie Brown's Steakhouse so I could have a last meal before starting liquids tomorrow morning.  I had salad bar and well-done prime rib. It really was great.  It will probably be a long time before I can eat salad again. With the LapBand it took over a year before I could eat any beef that wasn't chop meat. Steve never had any problem eating steak so maybe I will be able to enjoy it after my RNY too!

Tomorrow I am going over to my daughter Heather's apartment but I am bringing soup with me.  She has SF chocolate pudding so I will be in business! Liquids are a big pain but anything is worth it to have my surgery. Only four days of liquids and then my surgery...

I'm glad you enjoyed your last meal out before surgery. I did that a long time ago. I had to lose 10-12 pounds so I've been South Beaching it for two months. (down 18 by the way).
I see my surgeon for the last time today, and I think he'll have me start liquids too (since my surgery is 2 days after you).
Enjoy the time with your daughter. You named her well.

What hospital will you be in? I'll be up at Mather in Port Jeff.
Good luck! I can't wait to be on the other side with you next week!!!

Hi Marcia,

Don't worry, eventually you will be able to eat steak and salad again....probably sooner than you realize!  Just remember,,,little tiny bites and chew chew chew....it truly makes the difference!

Wishing you the very best for an uneventful surgery!

You should go to the GS meeting this Saturday, I'll be out of town, but it will help you.

Marcia,

Yes, you will be able to eat steak again....it will take awhile...but, it will happen.  I have very little trouble with meat...thank God cuz of the protein count.  Just follow all the rules and here's to a routine surgery!

Marcia,
As others have said, the meat will come back into your diet, as well as veggies before you know it. In the interim, you will be losing weight like gangbusters and learning valuable lessons about listening to your satiety level and changing lifestyle habits. This is a very exciting time and we are here for you if you have questions or just need to vent!

Wishing you an uneventful surgery,
Amy
