Divorce and WLS

Some of us are unlucky and have ex husbands (used to be husbands) that could not tolerate the changes that we have made since having WLS. I would love to hear from those of you whose marriages have not withstood the test of WLS. I am always so impressed when I hear of spouses that are able to adapt to lifestyle changes, body changes, emotional changes...My ex couldn't handle it and bailed out. I am in a situation now where I am still adapting to the body/mind changes but am without the support which I thought I would have (spousal support) going into this journey.

It's been a very challenging period of time for me, and while I'm sure I've done right by myself, and my kids, I am now traveling a challenging road alone, without spousal support. Anyone else finding themselves in this position? If so, I'd love to hear how you're managing, what your thoughts are about these changes, and especially the ways in which your life has improved.

Hugs out to all of you,
Amy

Altough at this point I cannot reply to this post I can say IT HAS NOT BEEN an easy road in my relationship post WLS, it is challenging each day at tines and the transitions are hard for me but have not been easy on hubby. It surely rocked us to the core. Be well dear and you have friends heree!

Thanks for your input and constant support Jamie. I have been to the forum that you posted above, mostly what I've seen is supportive spouses who are struggling to keep up with the changes. It is reassuring knowing that some spouses are trying hard to work through the multiple emotional, social, and other changes that accompany WLS. Unfortunately, mine wasn't up to the task. This opens the door to a whole new set of challenges. One foot in front of the other, I guess.

Andi!

So nice to hear from you! Thank you for the vote of confidence. I would love to hear what's going on in your world! It's been so long since I've heard from your camp. How are you feeling? What changes--good and otherwise--have occured in your life as a result of WLS? What are your challenges?

Big hugs right back at you friend. So so great to hear from you,
Amy
