post op needs abdominalplasty support
I have been asking my gastric bypass surgeon's office for a letter of support for this surgery for two months. I call weekly and I'm assured the letter is on its way to me. Today, 2 months later from my first consultation with a plastic surgeon....i STILL do not have this letter!! If you are even thinking about having this kind of procedure post op, start asking for this letter NOW.... it seems to be a daunting task to get things from your gastric bypass surgeon once you are post op...you are forgotten :-( and they don't make you a priority anymore. I am not the only one frustrated with getting assistance post op....so i know it's my surgeon's office inefficiency. Funny, but the more staff he has, the more turnover in the last couple of years and the worse things are getting. I hate to even recommend him to anyone anymore .... what to do?

I'm ahead of you. I phoned my plastic surgeon's office yesterday and they are going to try to intercede by calling Dr. Ahmad's office directly. It's sad but even they agreed that there is a problem with Dr. Ahmad's office staff :( I plan to show up without warning next Thurs night which is Dr. A's late night and I will cause a HUGE scene if I don't have my letter by then. Another patient of Dr. A's called 2 weeks ago regarding pain and she has yet to receive a return phone call!! Something is so very wrong lately with his staff and communication. I've asked for a release form so that I can have my medical records transferred to a different surgeon for support and follow-up. Dr. A obviously can't handle the case load he has. If anyone is looking for a new job in getting him organized, perhpas you should send your resume? He desperately needs an office manager and someone more efficient at handling his clientele.

Perhaps write the letter yourself (find examples online or ask others to send you a copy of theirs) and make an apt wiht the doctor to sign it, of make an apt and ask it be written by hand then....just a few thoughts.

It seems my doctor's office is really getting too disorganized. I know someone else who called regarding a problem 2 weeks ago (pain) and she has yet to get a return phone call :( It is SO discouraging. I think someone needs to get fired because I can't put the blame on my surgeon...but he should be aware that his office staff is for **** This is no excuse though. I doubt I can refer him to anyone again and as soon as i get this letter, I'm going to have my file transferred out of there permanently.
