RNY vs VSG

I'm devestated! Was all set to schedule RNY when surgeron decided to do VSG., because I have lupus.  Really don't want sleeve, all this work for nothing.  Any one else have RNY with lupus?  I'm off steroids and NSAID.  In reality any one may have to take steroids after surgery for a variety of reasons,,Wonder if I should shop for new Doc, so frustrated.  There realyy is a difference between the weight loss of the 2 surgeries. Any suggestions?
