just getting started
Hello all i have finally made the descision to start the journey for wls.I am not scared but excited I have been doing reaserch for over 6 months I have found a surgeon not I just have to get started I am really here just looking advice support etc I have a loving husbadn and 2 amazing daughters all supportive but I feel only someoneelse in my same situation can truly know how i fell so basically just looking for new friends to share nd help me with the journey

I applaud you because you deserve it.
You can say that I've just gotten started myself. I've been thinking about wls since December, 2007. Back then, I decided to pursue the Lap band. In doing some research, I've now decided to have the bypass performed. I am so excited I can not tell you enough. So, in my journey in following all of the pre-certification steps for the Lap Band, I'd seen a phych and nutri. Thankfully, my new bypass surgeon (who actually preformed the surgery on my mother 3 years ago), is actually willing to accept all of their report. Talk about a blessing! If he'd chosen not to accept their reports, I'd probably be in the hole another $600 or $700, given the cost to see his referred psych and nutri.
Moving on... I'm scheduled to meet with the surgeon on 9/8. During that visit I'll get my surgery date. Again, talk about excited? Ha! You have no idea.
